Lincoln Announces MKZ Hybrid
Lincoln has unveiled a hybrid version of its mid-size MKZ sedan at the 2010 New York Auto Show. The MKZ is the first hybrid vehicle for the auto brand. And as such, Lincoln expects the MKZ Hybrid to be the most fuel-efficient luxury sedan in America when it rolls into dealerships this fall.
With the same hybrid system the Ford Fusion Hybrid and Mercury Milan Hybrid use, the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid delivers a combined 191 horsepower from its 2.5L four-cylinder engine and electric motor. In EV mode, the MKZ Hybrid can travel up to 47mph on battery power alone. With the help of its hybrid technology, the gas-electric MKZ assures the best fuel economy in its class, returning an estimated 41mpg in the city.“Today’s luxury customers do not want to make sacrifices. Lincoln has found a way to deliver a luxury sedan with the comforts they expect, the technology they want and the environmental responsibility society demands,” said Derrick Kuzak, Ford’s group vice president, Global Product Development.
Standard features of the MKZ Hybrid is set to include SYNC, 10-way power passenger seat, heated and cooled front seats, genuine wood trim, reverse sensing system, MyKey and Bridge of Weir leather seats.
