Mitsubishi Collaborates with Peugeot/Citroen to Create i-MiEV
Japanese automaker giant Mitsubishi and French automaker PSA Peugeot Citroen has announced that they will join together and create an electric car in Europe by the end of 2010. The electric car will be based on the Mitsubishi i-MiEV EV, which was first shown earlier in Japan. The resulting car will be offered in both Peugeot and Citroen variants in Europe.
PSA Peugeot Citroen will probably reveal the car in the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show and will announce more details in the days to come. The French author is hoping that it will be able to sell about 25,000 units annually in Europe. Mitsubishi on the other hand will also market 25,000 i-MiEVs in Japan and elsewhere.PSA spokesman Jean-Marc Sarret said that the car will be capable of a roughly 80-mile range between charges, which will take about six hours each.
